Aakkar Governorate
Aakkar Governorate (mohafazah, muhafazah, محافظة) is one of eight governorates of Lebanon.
It stretches of the river in El Bared River south to El Kebir along the Lebanese-Syrian border in the north, an area of up to 776 square kilometers.
During the municipal elections of 2004, its counted 281 843 registered voters of which 155 407 voters. 1
