Ain Ouzain (عين وزين) is a Lebanese local authority which is located in Chouf District (Qada'a), an administrative division of Mount Lebanon Governorate (Mohafazah). The municipality is member of Federation of Chouf Es Souayjani Municipalities.

Etymology

According to the book "Informations sur les bourgeois du Mont-Liban", the name of Ain Ouzain result of origin of the Syriac word "Ain Oseh" designating the launches, and more precisely the tip of the spear, and would have been obtained at the end a slow transformation semantics. The book "Names of Lebanese towns and villages" on the other hand suggested that the word refers instead to "eye of the goose".

Features

Ain Ouzain is distinguished by its architectural style, a mixture of traditional and modern architectural style. The village includes a large number of education associations, including social and health like "Association Sanitaire des Druzes", Most regional important private association.

Archaeological sites

There are many archaeological sites in Ain Ouzain like traces of an ancient water source from the Phoenician period or Roman jars, caves and ancient cemeteries, ancient tombs carved in stone, presses carob or the remains of an ancient mosque.
