Etymology
There are many legends about the origin of the name of Baaqline. Many agree that it comes from the Syriac and meant "house of the spirit" or "two spirits house."
History
Baaqline owes its fame to the Druze Emir Fakhreddine (1585-1633). It was the ally of the Maronites and became the master of a large part of Lebanon and was the first to unify the country. During his reign, he choose Baaqline like an adminsitrative centrer of the Chouf, Aaley and west, giving it a central role in the history of the Chouf.Retour ligne manuel
