Location

Municipality of Shayleh is located in the Kaza of Kesrouane one of Mohafazah of Mount-Lebanon kazas (disticts). Mohafazah of Mount-Lebanon is one of the eight mohafazats (governorates) of Lebanon. It's 25 kilometers (15.535 mi) away from Beyrouth (Beirut) the capital of Lebanon. It's elevations is of 550 meters (1) (1804.55 ft - 601.48 yd) above sea level. Shayleh surface stretches for 221 hectares (2.21 km² - 0.85306 mi²)(2).

The municipality have an elected municipal council for 6 years, composed of 12 members (1). Its has administrative and financial independence but remains under the control and supervision of the central government.

Population and Voters

Shayleh counted 1151 residents (estimation). In the last municipal lebanese elections of 2004, its accounted 2746 resgitered voters of which 1514 actual voters (1).
