The following section includes several cultural cooperation projects that we identified in Lebanon. These achieved or still running projects are updated once any new information is published or sent by any partner.

"Memoirs of refugees" Exhibition at the Institut Universitaire de Formation des Maîtres de Vannes, within a week of international solidarity held from 16th to 20th of November 2009 - 15 December 2009
Memoirs of refugees "is an exhibition held at the Institut Universitaire de Formation des Maîtres de Vannes during the week of international solidarity. It was held from 16th to 20th of November 2009, purpose of this exhibition is not to condemn but to demonstrate the reality of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. It is the outcome of several meetings and interviews with elders living in the camp of Borj Ech Chamali in southern Lebanon.
Youth from Tadamoun Wa Tanmia participating in "Men and women, cross roads" - EURO MED - 13 November 2009
"Men and women, cross roads" is a program that aims to combat violence against women. This meeting is one of Euro med activities, organized by the FOL Federation des Oeuvres Laique in Plumangat - France from 6th until 16th of July 2009.
First meeting of animators held in Picardie north of Paris, from 7 to 12 September 2009 - 13 November 2009
Held in Picardie north of Paris, from 7 to 12 September 2009 with the support of OFAJ and Solidarité Laique. Participants were youth from Lebanon (Solidarity and Development Association), Germany (Jugendwerk der AWO Berlin) and France (Les Francas).
"Letters to Beirut" within the framework of Beirut the World Book Capital (April 2009 - April 2010) - 6 October 2009
The "Letters to Beirut" international project aims at establishing a website that offers a space to those wishing to write letters to the city of Beirut.
"The Waves " Exhibition held at the French Cultural Center in Beirut from September 28th until October 4th, 2009 - 4 October 2009
Installations and videos by Thierry Kuntzel (1948-2007) speak about suppression, resumption, reconciliation, the unspeakable limit of the image, chaos and exploring the mechanism of film making that psychologically bond the artist. The spectator facing the screen, with wave's background, enters into corridors towards the irresistible attraction of the image.
The Partner’s Village of Francophone Games - 13 September 2009
The Partner's Village is an event organized within the framework of the Francophone Games. It is carried out in cooperation with the International Organization of Francophone and the National Committee for the Games of Francophone.
Project to establish an information technology library in Aaraiya (2007-2009) - 13 June 2009
In 2007, the city of Cholet, focusing on the promotion of culture, launched a second program of local urban development. Aim is to create within the village of Aaraiya, an information technology library in Arabic and French.
Recital, Raphaëlle Ivery at the French cultural center in Deir El Qamar on the 18th of July 2009 - 11 June 2009
A piano recital for Raphaëlle Ivery Accompanied by Mohamad Sabalbal will be held at 20 pm on July, 18th at the French Cultural Center in Deir El Qamar. French mezzo soprano will perform the great melodies in the repertoire of opera and operetta composed by Rossini, Puccini, Mozart, Campra, Lehar and Offenbach.
The 2009 Music Festival in Baalbek On 22nd of June - 10 June 2009
On the occasion of Music international festival, the municipality of Baalbek and the French Cultural Center extend an invitation to a concert on June 22nd at 20:30; venue is the bishopric in Baalbek. Performer is HEBA group composed of Hiba EL MANSOURI, Zeid Hamdan and Beshir SAADE.
The 2009 Music festival in Beirut - June 21st

ON Sunday 21st of June at 8 pm, Beirut is celebrating the 2009 Music Festival in downtown, Gemmayzeh, Hamra and Martyr's square. Musical parades will be carried out by Aspro (France), Mashrou 'Leila, The Kordz, New Government, Arcane, the Incompetents, ANNE, Katiba 5, Ashek'man, Youmna Saba and many others...
Project to support the policy of book and reading in Lebanon (Embassy of France) - 21 April 2009
This project will support the policy of the Ministry of Culture to encourage reading and use of books. Project approved by the Lebanese government and signed on 17 October 2006 by HE French Ambassador Emié, and Mr. Mitri, Minister of Culture. Its duration is 3 years. Its main objective is to improve access to books and reading for all with priority for youth.
Franco-Lebanese Municipalities Forum in Neuilly-sur-Seine - 21 April 2009
As part of the 4th Franco-Lebanese Forum of Municipalities, Jean-Christophe Fromantin (Mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine) and the municipality hosted 15 presidents of municipalities from Lebanon on Nov 18, 2008. Visit included a City car tour, reception by First Deputy and a presentation on municipality's policy given by Christophe Aulnettes.
Cooperation program between Cholet and Aaraiya - 7 April 2009
On 12th of December 2003, a decentralized cooperation agreement was signed between the City of Cholet and Aaraiya, a Lebanese village located in Baabda Caza twelve km away from Beirut. In the context of cooperation between the two municipalities, two programs of local urban development were put into action.
Organizing an international seminar on "The methodology of observing French teaching" at the headquarters of the Francophone International Organization - 20 March 2009
An international seminar on "The methodology of observing French teaching" was held at the headquarters of the Francophone International Organization in Paris from 12th to 14th of June 2008. There were about fifty researchers, academics, experts and officials from organizations and concerned institutions from Lebanon and other countries.
Inauguration of a new reading and cultural center in Baalbek - 20 March 2009
A new Center for Reading and Cultural Activities (CLAC) was inaugurated in Baalbek (Mohafazah of Baalbek-Hermel) on the 7th of March 2009, in the presence of Tammam Salam the Minister of Culture and Bassam Raad the president of the municipality. This is the 22nd CLAC centers that were established in Lebanon since 2001 by the Francophone International Organization and the Lebanese partners.
The Sixth Francophone games that will be held in Beirut from September 27th until October 6th 2009 - 20 March 2009
Lebanon has offered to all French-speaking countries a magnificent opening ceremony, held Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Camille Chamoun Sports City, attended by Mr François Fillon, French Prime Minister, Mrs Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, Minister of Health and Sports and Mr. Alain Joyandet, Secretary of State for Cooperation and Francophonie. The ceremony marked the opening of a week of sporting and cultural activities between all the delegations from the Francophone world composed of talented athletes and artists. Extrait de la cérémonie d'ouverture - Jeux de la Francophonie The Francophone games are held every 4 years, with the participation of around 3,000 athletes, youths and artists from 56 French speaking countries and also 14 observer countries. It is a high level sport and art festival and popular event. Lebanon has been chosen to host the Sixth Francophone Games, which will be held in Beirut (Lebanon) from 27th of September to 6th of October 2009.
Official Celebration of the Francophone International Day in Beirut on 20th of March 2009 - 20 March 2009
The Francophone International Day is dedicated to the French language that unites 200 million speakers in the world and brings together 870 million persons in 70 states and governments members of the Francophone International Organization. In the presence of Abdou Diouf, Secretary General of Francophone, the official celebration will take place on 20th of March 2009 in Beirut (Lebanon), which is considered to be the city of diversity and dialogue among cultures and the hosting country of the Francophone games of 2009 fall.
"Another Music" title of an exhibition at the Library of Lanester from 17 to 30 July 2008 - 31 July 2008
A photography project conducted by Simon Lourié, Yasmine Eid-Sabbagh with the collaboration of a group of youth from Borj Ech Chemali camp. Exhibition reveals youth's lives, dreams and concerns. Music, accompanied with images on the lives of Palestinians in one of Lebanon's camps, is played by those who live there.

Seven years have passed, the convention of decentralised cooperation between Lille Metropole LMCU "communauté urbaine" and the Federation of Municipalities of the Chouf Es Souayjani "FMCES" ends before 2008. Available in arabic.
August 2007: GUIRAB at the Interceltic Festival of Lorient - 18 October 2007
This summer, GUIRAB band – the Palestinian refugee musical band of Burj Ech Chemali camp participates for the second time in Interceltic Festival of Lorient. Official meetings, music playing, leisure activities and training were included in this event.
Hosting 25 children from Qana in Bagneux - 16 April 2007
During the spring vacation of 2007, the city of Bagneux organized for hosting a group of 25 children from Qana a village in Lebanon. Visit took place from 2nd to 13th of April.
Establishing an open-air theater in the St Georges neighborhood (AIMF - Zahleh) - 19 December 2006
Facing many urban challenges, the municipality of Zahleh in collaboration with the AIMF has decided to establish an outdoor theater in the neighborhood of St George.
Project to create a space for activities in Matn el Aala area - 16 November 2005
Creating a space for meetings and animation in the federation of Matn el Aala municipalities. It includes construction of an outdoor 1000 seats amphitheater and a public adjacent area equipped to host fairgrounds and other events. (Available in French)
